Mary Elizabeth Burns, LAPC

With years of experience working in psychiatric hospitals, a military mental health clinic, an eating disorder hospital, and private practice, I have learned that connectedness and gratitude help us to develop a purpose in life. All of us along the way lose sight of the bigger picture and can fall into negative coping mechanisms that can harm ourselves and the ones who love us.

As a seasoned therapist I can help you sort through overwhelming thoughts and emotions in order to make clearer decisions. My practice theory first includes providing a nonjudgmental, supportive, and safe environment for my clients. I treat teens, families and couples dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and LGBTQ issues. My specialty is working with teens and their families battling eating disorders, self harm, suicidal ideations, and OCD. I lead a DBT group skills class for teens and young adults struggling with eating disorders.

Together we will navigate complex issues and learn healthy coping strategies to help you live with a clear, open mind. I invite you to give me a call for a free consultation. It is never a bad time to seek help and start the process of healing.
